A 48-year-old woman is facing a misdemeanour charge of assault after allegedly slapping an airport security guard in Fargo, North Dakota as he attempted to frisk her after she repeatedly set off an airport metal detector.

The woman allegedly slapped the guard with her boarding pass after he informed her that she would have to be frisked because she had repeatedly set off the metal detector. A spokesperson for the local police said that the woman then said that if anyone was going to touch her she was going to touch them.

The spokesperson added that the woman was allowed to leave on another flight but that the police plan to pursue a misdemeanour assault charge
