Wadworth, Ohio's City Council has voted to adopt a new alarm ordinance that is designed to affect the number of false alarms the city's police department has to deal with.
According to a report in the Akron Beacon Journal, the ordinance will apply fees after two false alarms in a year's time, with fines starting at $150.
The fee schedule is as follows:
- First and second false alarm: Free
- Third and fourth false alarm: $150 each
- Fifth false alarm: $250
- Sixth false alarm: $500
- Seventh false alarm: Revocation of alarm permit
The city currently requires owners of alarm systems to have a permit on file.
