Charlotte Seeking New Alarm Permitting Contractor

In Charlotte, according to a report in the Charlotte Observer newspaper, the contractor that handles the permits for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg police has been let go and a new contractor is not yet in place.

This may affect some of you customers who need to verify that they are permitted in order to obtain police response to their alarms. According to the report in the Charlotte Observer, the duties are temporarily back with the alarm permits office, (704) 432-9969, until another contractor is found.

Monitoring companies are required to provide the alarm's permit number to request a police check of the facility or home. No date was given for when there would be a new contractor in place.
