Duesseldorf Germany Begins Surveillance of the City's Old Quarter

Photographer Martin Meissner captures the surveillance system in a short photo essay

Associated Press photographer Martin Meissner headed out on the streets to capture images of Dusseldorf, Germany's new surveillance system.

The system employs a high-tech camera system monitored at a police control headquarters. The surveillance system monitors Duesseldorf's old town, popular for tourism.

The city officially began using surveillance systems on Wednesday, April 27, 2005.
