Pinkerton Computer Consultants Inc. won a $4.1 million contract to provide data governance support to the Homeland Security Department’s U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology Program Office, the company has announced.
Under the contract, PCCI of Fairfax, Va., will help facilitate the distribution of information that decisionmakers in the U.S. immigration and border management system need to make better determinations about the admissibility of visitors.
Data governance and data management for the U.S. Visit program are complex tasks that involve close collaboration with other DHS directorates, bureaus and stakeholders within the Justice and State departments.
U.S. Visit is a system that tracks the entry and exit of foreign visitors to the United States through biometric identification. It helps secures the country’s borders, as well as facilitate the entry and exit process for foreign visitors.
PCCI is a privately held company that provides IT services and solutions to the public and private sectors. In addition to Homeland Security, the company’s federal client roster includes the Defense, Education, Health and Human Services, and State departments, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
