Airport gains additional screening capacity as passenger numbers grow

On Tuesday, April 12, authorities at the Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio opened up a new screening area for passengers heading toward the gates. The new location expands the airport's screening area from two to three lanes.

The airport has been seeing passenger growth as AirTran Airways has grown in the area, and Frontier Airlines will add new flights from Akron-Canton Airport to Denver beginning in June.

All lanes will be managed by the Transportation Security Administration.
