$20 million investments for Westec will allow company to acquire new technologies, other companies

Westec InterActive, which offers interactive video monitoring services, has received a $17.5 million infusion. The funding comes from private equity firm Clarity Partners and coincided with a $2.5 million investment into Westec by the company's owner and CEO Gerald T. Vento.

According to Westec, the money has been slated for new technology purchase designed to keep Westec on the cutting edge of video monitoring, as well as for acquisitions within the industry.

"Clarity's investment in Westec reinforces our belief in Jerry Vento's vision of intelligent business monitoring that goes beyond traditional security," said Clint Walker, a partner at Clarity Partners, in a prepared statement on Thursday.
