IdentiSys acquires Capital Card Systems

Acquisition part of company’s targeted expansion strategy

IdentiSys, an Eden Prairie, Minn.-based integrator of identification, tracking and other security applications announced Wednesday that it has acquired Capital Card Systems.

Based in Rockville, Md., Capital Card Systems is a provider of identification technology solutions, such as digital photo ID, smart card and biometric systems, to the corporate, government, healthcare and education markets.

With the acquisition, Michael R. Shields, founder and CEO of IdentiSys, said in a statement that the company now has sales and service covering one-third of the U.S.

"IdentiSys is constantly investigating growth opportunities to expand our local sales and service coverage in the U.S. This purchase is our eighth identification dealer acquisition in the last seven years," said Shields. "Our strategy targeted expansion into the Northeast area of the U.S. With the addition of Capital Card Systems, we now offer sales and on-site services throughout the U.S., including Florida, Hawaii, Kentucky, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia. Our growth strategy includes acquisitions and expanding product offerings to our current customer base."
