ISC East returns to its old name

New York security tradeshow gets back to its roots, will be held Oct. 30-31, 2012

What's old is new again. After briefly changing its name to the ISC Solutions, the ISC East tradeshow is now known as "ISC East" again. Show management from Reed Exhibitions have announced the name change after they say they consulted with attendees, exhibitors, supporters and associations involved in the program. The event serves as a regional security tradeshow for security industry professionals in the New York and surrounding areas, and is offered as an alternative to the destination-style tradeshow of ISC West, which is held every year in Las Vegas.

"People familiar with the show told us that 'We don't care what you name it, we call it ISC East," said ISC Events senior vice president and show manager Ed Several in announcing the event's name change.

ISC East is planned for Oct. 30-31 at New York City's Javits Center, and the show management said the event is for both the channel part of the industry as well as for security end-users. Historically, the tradeshow had been a channel-focused show for dealers and integrators in the New York and East Coast region, but when the event was renamed as ISC Solutions, the event managers worked to bring more end-users to the tradeshow. The event is co-produced with the Security Industry Association and fits into what is known as "Security Week" because it includes SIA's Securing New Ground and the Security Week Gala events as well as the Security 500 conference/dinner from BNP.
