In an effort to help healthcare security professionals who are also assigned safety as a responsibility, the International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) announced this week that it is now offering a "Healthcare Professional Safety Certificate Program."
According to a statement, this initiative will provide those that have been asked to take on safety responsibilities with a comprehensive and up-to-date overview.
"It can be daunting to try to navigate the complex and diverse topics that are comprised in the healthcare safety field, and this program provides a way in," said IAHSS Executive Director Evelyn Meserve.
Meserve explained that the idea for this introductory program came from IAHSS members, who have also written much of the program content. "The manual is filled with useful charts and regulations – it’s a fantastic resource," Meserve added.
The program is available as a 280-page PDF manual on the IAHSS website for $69.95.
