Linear, a maker of access control, emergency response and other security solutions for the residential and commercial markets, announced this week the consolidation of radio frequency (RF) transmitter and receiver manufacturer Secure Wireless, Inc.

According to a statement, all of the company’s operations will be integrated with Linear during the remainder of 2012. Secure Wireless was founded in 2002 and its products are used in both residential and commercial applications, as well wireless consumer products.

Linear Senior Vice President of Product and Market Development Duane Paulson said that the integration of Secure Wireless with its operations will help bolster their RF development capabilities.  "Linear is already a leader in wireless security solutions, but this consolidation gives us more resources to pursue other segments through innovation and product development."

In addition, Linear said that Secure Wireless’ customers would be unaffected by the consolidation. The company’s technical and customer support functions, along with other business operations will be combined at Linear’s headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif. and its manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids, Mich.

"Our existing customers will immediately benefit from the world-class service and support Linear is known for," said Chuck Stevens, general manager of Secure Wireless and vice president of the new Linear Health strategic business unit. "We will continue to be a leader in wireless security and OEM development and look forward to continued growth aided by Linear's extensive dealer and support networks."
