Company's home security and automation panel now available to dealers nationwide

Less than a year after making its official debut at ISC West, home security and automation panel maker Qolsys announced last week that its IQ Panel is now widely available through distributors in the U.S.

The 7-inch touchscreen panel, which uses Google’s Android operating system, is tightly integrated with Alarm.com’s connected home services platform to support security, video monitoring, energy management and home automation.

“We attacked this from a very fresh approach with the singular purpose of bringing real innovation to the space,” Qolsys CEO David Pulling told SIW in an interview last year. “We see an opportunity to really shake things up and create value and bring innovation to a space that has had some innovation, but relative to other industries, it’s is still a little bit stagnant.”

Following the company’s launch last April, Qolsys began delivering the IQ Panel and full line of peripherals to Qolsys Foundation Club members in June, followed by shipping to limited dealers in November. The IQ Panel features six built-in communications radios including; a dedicated cellular connection for life safety signals and home automation commands; Wi-Fi for seamless software updates; Z-Wave for traditional in-home management and device control; and, the Alarm.com Image Sensor for visual verification. The intuitive interface makes it easy to navigate features, including simple touch arming, disarm photos taken from the integrated panel camera, and photo frame.

“The IQ Panel redefines the traditional self-contained number pad into today’s all-in-one platform,” said Qolsys Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mike Hackett in a statement.  “We’re excited to partner with the security industry to deliver next generation technology and innovation, enabling dealers to meet the demands of the broader marketplace.”
