Optellios to merge with Senstar

Merger to add fiber optic sensing technology to Senstar's portfolio

Perimeter intrusion detection systems manufacturer Senstar announced on Wednesday that is has entered into an agreement to purchase Optellios, a maker of fiber optic sensing technology, and that the two companies will merge when the transaction closes next month.

“Senstar is the number one global provider in the PIDS market, offering the broadest portfolio of technologies,” Senstar President Brian Rich said in a statement. “The merger with Optellios adds key advanced fiber optic sensing technology to our offering and strengthens our position in the market. I would like to welcome the talented Optellios staff to our company.”

“We at Optellios have always looked at Senstar as the global market leader and this transaction allows the two market leaders to join forces, to offer a broader portfolio of products and services to customers around the world,” said Kevin Bradley, vice president of sales and marketing for Optellios. “We are proud to become part of Senstar.”

Both companies will be exhibiting at the upcoming ISC West show in Las Vegas next month.
