ASIS names New York Police Commissioner William Bratton as its '2015 Person of the Year'

Bratton to be honored at annual New York City Security Conference & Expo

ASIS International recently announced that it will honor New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton with its "2015 Person of the Year Award" at a special luncheon next month. The annual awards luncheon is part of the 25th New York City Security Conference & Expo, which is hosted by the ASIS NYC Chapter.

“Under Commissioner Bratton’s command, New York City realized a historic reduction in crime. He is unwavering in his commitment to provide a safe and secure environment in which people can live and businesses can thrive,” said Craig M. Schwab, CPP, chair, ASIS New York City Chapter. “Commissioner Bratton possesses an unparalleled combination of leadership and interpersonal skills that have enabled him to inspire positive change within our diverse communities. Through his words and actions, he has demonstrated an acute understanding of the value of such private-public partnerships and. therefore, it is our honor to commend his accomplishments and extend our appreciation with this year’s Person of the Year award.”

Bratton is the only person to ever lead the police agencies of the nation’s two largest cities ─ New York City and Los Angeles. He has built an international reputation as a strong, innovative leader whose expertise for re-engineering police departments and ability to significantly reduce crime has transformed the cities in which he has served.
