Northern Communications, Alarm.com launch joint monitoring solution

Canadian-based Northern Communications in conjunction with Alarm.com announced this week that they have developed a remote monitoring solution that will allow elderly and disabled persons to live independently.

The solution, CareLink Advantage, provides caregivers with the ability to remotely monitor a person’s health. According to a statement issued by the companies, CareLink Advantage can send video images or information from sensors to the cell phone or computer of a family member or another authorized individual to let them know the health status of the user.

"CareLink Advantage’s passive yet powerful remote monitoring features reduce the financial, emotional and physical toll placed on caregivers and extend the time individuals can remain in their homes," Alarm.com CEO Steve Trundle said in the statement.

The solution is currently available at participating dealers across Canada.
