Mace Security International announced Thursday that it has appointed Dennis Raefield as its new president and CEO.

Raefield, who is currently president of Reach Systems, will officially take over as head of the company on Aug. 18, at which time Mace’s interim CEO Gerald LaFlamme will step aside.

Former Mace CEO Louis D. Paolino was ousted by the company’s board earlier this year for misconduct.

In a prepared statement, Raefield said that he was looking forward to returning the company to "profitability" and added that his first order of business will be to increase revenues by producing "quality products."

In addition to serving as head of Reach Systems, Raefield has also been president of serveral other security firms in his career, including Ademco and Honeywell Access Systems, as well as Pinkerton Systems Integration.
