On Thursday, Samsung's CCTV division announced the formation of Samsung Techwin America. The firm will offer Samsung video surveillance technologies.
"We have combined Samsung Techwin's thirty years of innovation with Techwin’s most powerful 4th generation DSP engine," said Bob McKee, vice president of North American Sales for Samsung Techwin America. "This enables Samsung Techwin America to offer the most advanced digital security products available anywhere in the world. Our technology coupled with our commitment to provide superior service makes us unbeatable."
McKee comes over to Samsung Techwin America from Pelco where he was director of business development. McKee will be working under David Smith, executive vice president of Samsung Techwin America. Smith is a surveillance industry veteran since the mid-1970s. His experience includes time at Robot Research, Kalatel (since acquired by GE's security division), and Pelco, where he was vice president of marketing.
Also on the team are Henry Kim and Cathy Farrington. Kim is the senior product marketing manager. Like McKee and Smith, Kim also brings experience from Pelco; Kim also worked at Kyocera. Farrington is director of sales operations, and brings experience from Sensormatic/TYCO, Microsoft and Viva Vision.
The company is already announcing new products for the North American market; the products will be on display at the ASIS 2008 show from Sept. 15-18 in Atlanta, Ga. The product line will include new cameras and DVRs
