SIW Radio Episode 4: An HSPD-12/FIPS 201 Discussion

On Thursday, Aug. 24, SecurityInfoWatch.com held a webinar featuring Michael Butler, the director of the Access Card Office for the Department of Defense and Jason Halverson, a smart card analyst with research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. The webinar was sponsored by Hirsch Electronics, Bioscrypt, Ultra Electronics (Magicard) and GE Security.

Last week’s webinar on HSPD-12/FIPS 201 was so popular, with so many listener-submitted questions, that we brought back Michael Butler and Jason Halverson on Monday morning for a phone call to discuss some of the finer points of HSPD-12/FIPS 201 access control for government facilities, agencies and contractors.

From access control, to smart card capacities, to what the Oct. 27 deadline means for the federal government, Butler and Halverson share their knowledge of this major government security initiative.

I would be very interested in the August 24th webinar broadcast. I have not been able to locate this on your web page. Please reply and explain to me where to find this information. I work in the Security field as a Security Manger and feel that this information would be helpful when I brief on HSPD-12/FIPS-201. Thank you

  3. Donald, here’s the link to the original HSPD-12/FIPS 201 webinar.
