Interlogix’s N.C. manufacturing facility receives workplace safety designation

Company’s Lincolnton location given 'Rising Star' site designation by NCDOL

LINCOLNTON, N.C., Dec. 8, 2011 — Leading security products and systems provider, Interlogix, has received the North Carolina Department of Labor (NCDOL) “Rising Star” site designation for their Lincolnton, N.C., manufacturing facility. The Carolina Star Program, a state version of the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Voluntary Protection Program, represents a partnership among employees, management and the NCDOL, and identifies worksites that use safety practices above the minimum requirements, implement continuous improvement, and promote safety and health leadership. Interlogix is part of UTC Climate Controls & Security Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Out of 250,000 employers in North Carolina, only 125 sites have achieved the Star status, and only seven sites, including the Lincolnton facility, have reached “Rising Star” status. Becoming a Star participant demonstrates to employees and the community that the company is a leader in safety and health.

“The achievement was made possible through a shared commitment of the facility’s more than 200 employees,” said Zenaida Camacho, Carolina Star Coordinator for the site. “Our employees make safety and health practices a vital part of our company’s operations.”

“The Lincolnton team is very pleased with the Rising Star recognition, and we are already working hard to achieve Star recognition in 2012,” said Sergio Maceira, Employee, Health & Safety (EH&S) site manager. “We continue to look for additional ways to improve operations and maintain EH&S excellence.”

The Lincolnton facility manufactures video, intrusion detection and access control products for commercial and residential segments.
