Scott Harkins to lead Honeywell’s security business in the Americas

Harkins to take over company’s intrusion division from the departing JoAnna Sohovich

Security equipment manufacturer Honeywell Security Group announced Thursday that Scott Harkins has been tapped to lead the company’s product businesses in the Americas.

Harkins, who has overseen Honeywell’s video surveillance and access control divisions for the past three years, will now also be responsible for the company’s intrusion business, which includes AMEMCO security systems, AlarmNet radio communications, Total Connect remote services, and the First Alert Professional dealer program.

According to a statement, Harkins succeeds former intrusion business leader JoAnna Sohovich, who has decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities. He will report directly to Honeywell Security Group President Ron Rothman.

"We’ve seen dramatic shifts in security technology over the last few years that have greatly changed the way the industry does business," Harkins said. "No other company has been a part of this industry longer, or has a wider technology portfolio than Honeywell. I’m looking forward to helping our company continue this legacy and providing the tools and resources our customers need to help drive this industry forward."
