The National Retail Federation recently announced that retail security and loss prevention industry veteran Richard Mellor will join the organizations as its vice president of loss prevention later this month.
Mellor most recently served as divisional vice president of loss prevention for Helzberg Diamonds. He has also held executive positions at The Bon-Ton Stores and Macy’s.
According to a statement, Mellor will be responsible for the direction of NRF’s loss prevention initiatives such as its annual loss prevention conference, LP advisory network and investigator’s network. Mellor, who will be reporting to NRF Senior Vice President of Communities Vicki Cantrell, will also work to raise the visibility of various loss prevention issues.
"Rich Mellor brings an enhanced level of expertise and experience to NRF’s loss prevention team, and we are thrilled to have him on board," said NRF President and CEO Matthew Shay. "Rich’s extensive background in retail security and loss prevention topics will bring additional value to our members and boost our efforts to pass legislation crucial in the industry’s fight against fraud and retail crime."
