Edward Wassall, Ph. D., is Samsung's new director of IP product and business development.
CCTV solutions manufacturer Samsung Techwin American announced Thursday that Edward Wassall, Ph. D., has joined the company as its new director of IP product and business development.
According to a statement, Dr. Wassall will manage the sales and development aspects of the company’s IP technology and security product portfolio. He will also continue to work closely with the ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) standards body as Samsung’s contributing member.
Dr. Wassall worked for 17 years in two stints at Anixter, serving as director of systems engineering, vice president of integration services and later as vice president of national IP solutions. Previous employers also include SBC DataCom, where he was vice president of national integrations services (1999-2003); and GECO Systems, where he recently served as director of systems engineering (2011).
He holds a Ph.D. in information technology from Webster University. Dr. Wassall is also a CISCO Network Professional, certified cyber forensics specialist, certified P.E., and is Pelco and OnSSI certified.
