Aiphone donates security and communications systems to charitable causes

Bellevue, WA – (September 26, 2011) – Aiphone Corporation (Aiphone), a leading international manufacturer of intercom and entry security products, has recently focused its security expertise on efforts to provide safer environments for numerous in-need communities and individuals through a series of philanthropic donations. To date, Aiphone has donated its security and communications systems to a variety of charitable causes – from the homes of disadvantaged individuals to large-scale educational facilities. Most notably this year, Aiphone donated an intercom system to a family featured on the eighth season of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

On the May 15, 2011 episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Aiphone was honored to donate an intercom system to the refurbished home of Michael and Cindy Sharrock of Rossville, Georgia, whose nine-year-old son, Patrick, suffers from Type 3 osteogenesis imperfecta, most commonly known as brittle bone disease. The intercom system allows for easier internal communication between family members while in the home, a feature that will constantly, and necessarily alert the Sharrock’s to their son’s immediate needs and whereabouts, and will ultimately allow Patrick to feel more secure within the home. Aiphone had the pleasure of making previous contributions to “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” in 2005 and 2009, as well.

Aiphone has been eager to get involved in several other charitable projects. Aiphone became involved in the Bella Tucker Project and donated an intercom system to the home of nine-year-old gymnast Bella Tucker of Londonderry, New Hampshire, who contracted Streptococcus Pneumonia Sepsis, a potentially deadly infection that resulted in the amputation of all four of her limbs. Like in Patrick Sharrock’s home, the installation of Aiphone’s intercom system will allow for more seamless communication in the Tucker household, making once cumbersome day-to-day activities and contact much simpler.

Aiphone also donated an intercom system to the home of Richelle Heacock, who was severely injured in a car accident and left paralyzed from the waist down. Through this and all related donations, Aiphone hopes to help these families adjust to their life-changing circumstances by providing them with convenient, in-home communication.

Outside donations to homes of families in need, Aiphone is thoroughly dedicated to helping school systems across the country by providing quick and effective communication systems that will ensure the safety of both the faculty and all members of the study body. The Dixie County School District in Florida received an intercom donation from Aiphone for Anderson Elementary. Additionally, Seton Hall Preparatory School in New York received a system donation that will be fully installed by October 2011.

Aiphone’s attention to detail has earned the company a reputation as one of the most respected manufacturers of communication systems in the world. However, Aiphone has also proven their steadfast support in the values of community by reaching out to schools and families in need. Aiphone continues to seek out donation opportunities as a way to further their dedication to fostering the well-being of communities and individuals nationwide.
