Montreal, Canada, June 21, 2011 Vircom Inc., today announced the release of a new version of its renowned directQuarantine product. directQuarantine is an Outlook add-on module for Vircom’s modusGate email security software that provides end-user control of quarantine emails directly from Outlook.
"Vircom is excited to release directQuarantine V1.1, that has new functionality IT administrators have been waiting for," said Mike Petsalis, Vircom’s CEO. "Perhaps the most noteworthy is the 'Report as Spam' feature. Now with the single click of a button, end-users can send an unfiltered spam message to the quarantine and automatically send an email to Vircom for analysis. The total volume of email spam is consistently growing and becoming more targeted. The 'Report of Spam' feature will save IT administrators huge amounts of time trying to stay ahead of the game," Petsalis added.
Another new feature that both end-users and IT administrators will appreciate is directQuarantine’s 'Release and Report' functionality. It enables end-users to once again, with a single click of a button, release a false positive from the quarantine and send an email to Vircom for analysis. There is no need for IT involvement.
With the new version of directQuarantine, end-users can preview quarantined messages in text or HTML and can even view a list of attachments. To ensure the highest level of security, all dangerous content remains safely on the modusGate server and is not downloaded to Outlook. Users have complete control over their quarantined messages. They can search for messages by sender’s name or email address, or by the subject. The content of messages can also be searched. They can also quickly and easily delete messages or completely empty their directQuarantine folder.
Installation and deployment of directQuarantine has never been easier. Using Active Directory Group Policy it practically installs itself, with a single install package for all Outlook versions 2003, 2007, and 2010. IT administrators can rest easy knowing that their network is protected. They are free to focus on other priorities since they no longer need to be involved with day-to-day quarantine management.
Vircom’s directQuarantine software is compatible with modusGate 4.7 or higher, runs on Windows platforms (2003/2008/2008R2 for the server and XP/Vista/7 for the client), supports Outlook 2003, 2007, and 2010 and is available to order today.
