PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--SituCon Systems, Inc., the innovator of software and hardware technologies that enable video systems to provide both the safety required and privacy desired, today announced details of its participation at next week’s ASIS International 2011 Annual Seminar and Exhibits, which takes place September 19-22, 2011 in Orlando, FL.
SituCon will demonstrate how its Emergency Awareness Solution, which features a sophisticated alerting system and patented privacy protecting technology, allows school personnel to instantly alert authorities when an emergency occurs and lets responders see what is happening at the scene, while guaranteeing student and teacher privacy at all other times. The company will specifically highlight how the process is accomplished through integration with Panasonic’s Classroom Audio, Network Security Cameras and Recording solutions.
On display will be Panasonic-powered SituCam Privacy Protecting Cameras which feature software-controlled “eyelids” that cover the camera’s lens until danger strikes. When asleep, the cameras are covered by an eyelid that anyone in the area can see, ensuring classroom privacy. When the system is activated the eyelids open, alerting students and teachers that the authorities are watching.
Show attendees will observe demonstrations of the various features of the integrated solution including the way in which a teacher can conveniently and discreetly activate the system, without the need for any additional equipment, simply by using Panasonic’s pendant microphone which is already at hand for educational purposes.
What: Through one-on-one presentations in Panasonic’s booth (#3909), SituCon will offer attendees an inside look into a critically acclaimed school district deployment that utilizes the integrated Panasonic & SituCon solution to help ensure student and teacher safety while protecting their privacy. Special attention will be devoted to help demonstrate how, with just the push of a button, emergency notifications are sent to school administrators and first responders. The notifications include details such as who pressed the button and where they are located in the building. Additionally, while student and teacher privacy is guaranteed at all other times, as SituCam’s eyelids open, police can see live video of what is happening in their dispatch center, in their cruisers, and on their smart phones.
In addition, SituCon will explain the special educational benefits of its solution, as well as the availability of grants and other funding sources to enable the implementation of SituCon’s solution in schools across the country.
When: September 19-21, 2011
Where: Panasonic booth #3909, Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, FL.
