With three-year sales growth of 72 percent, Smarter Security ranked as number 2,931 overall in the annual list. Inc. has now recognized the company for four of the five years it has published this exclusive list of the most successful private organizations across all industries.
In a stagnant economic environment, the median growth rate of 2011 Inc. 5000 companies was 94 percent and aggregate revenue among the honorees reached $366 billion, up 14 percent from last year. In addition, the companies on the 2011 list report having created 350,000 jobs in the past three years. Smarter Security contributed to this overall job growth by more than doubling its employees in that time.

Beyond the overall ranking of number 2,931, Inc. also ranked Smarter Security number 219 of the 356 companies in Texas. The security industry was the sixth fastest-growing industry on the 2011 Inc. 5000 list and Smarter Security ranked number 44 of 66 companies in the industry.
The 2011 Inc. 5000 list is based on revenue growth from 2007 through 2010. To qualify, companies had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent – not a subsidiary or division of another company – as of December 31, 2010. Additionally, revenue had to be at least $100,000 in 2007 and $2 million in 2010.
