Delta Scientific introduces Designer Series of crash-rated gates

PALMDALE, CALIF. – May 19, 2010 – Delta Scientific, the leading manufacturer of counter-terrorist vehicle control systems used in the United States and internationally, today announced that not only can their popular crash gates withstand impacts as high as a 15,000 lb (66.7 kN) vehicle striking at 50 MPH (80 KPH) and suffer no significant damage, but they can look good too. Now, architects and contractors can choose from sliding and swing crash-tested gates in 14 different decors – green landscaping, screen printed glass, steel screen, back-painted glass, laser cut steel in two versions, panelized colored acrylic, panelized stone, panelized concrete, cast stone, wood and stone, panelized wood and wood screen.

"Many organizations are very concerned about the aesthetics of their landscaping and asked us to provide other looks beyond slats and bars," reports David Dickinson, Delta Scientific senior vice president. "Now, safety engineers can meet their security and aesthetic requirements with gates that have been tested in the field and trials for more than 25 years. In addition to 14 different decors, Delta gates are available with a variety of options to suit each installation."

The crash rated gates are powered by either electro-mechanical or hydraulic systems. Typical drive speeds are 60 ft (18.3 m) per minute, depending on electrical supply and gate length. Supplied Delta controls meet all requirements for control and safety. Standard gate measurements are 108 inches (2.74m) from the road surface to the top of the gate frame and 144 inches (3.65m) in length. Clear openings of up to 30 feet (10 m) can be specified.

All Delta gates are available in the Designer Series including the highest security TT280 slide gate, high security TT300 rolling pedestrian gate, SGC1000 manual crash rated swing gate and the SC300 high security cantilever gate.
