Bosch expands FlexiDome camera line

FAIRPORT, N.Y. – Bosch Security Systems, Inc. has expanded its award-winning line of FlexiDome cameras with the introduction of two new analog models that feature a 6-50 mm varifocal lens. The VDN-498 Series of FlexiDome 2X Day/Night compact cameras now offer customers a greater range for capturing crisp, detailed images up close and at a distance.

The ability to recognize nearby objects and those located further away is important for monitoring sidewalks alongside the exterior of a building and for perimeter surveillance along fence lines, gates and toll lanes. This makes the cameras ideal for schools and universities, government buildings, industrial complexes, and correctional facilities, among other applications.

With excellent infrared sensitivity and an IR-corrected lens that ensures they are always in focus, FlexiDome 2X Day/Night cameras are ready for 24/7 surveillance. Bosch's 2X-Dynamic Technology with 20-bit processing – twice the power of conventional cameras – delivers unparalleled image quality in all lighting conditions. The cameras use 2X-Dynamic and wide dynamic range sensors to analyze images pixel-by-pixel and produce the most detailed view of scenes with difficult lighting. This unique combination enables the cameras to reveal more than is visible with the human eye alone.

2X cameras also feature Smart Backlight Compensation (BLC) to optimize light levels for objects of interest in scenes with a bright background. Smart BLC automatically analyzes images and enhances details to provide the best result, without the need for user intervention.

FlexiDome cameras are built to deliver years of reliable operation. The rugged housing is vandal-resistant and IP 66-rated for protection against water and dust.

The new cameras are available in surface or flush-mount models. Their addition rounds out Bosch’s extensive portfolio of fixed minidome cameras – now with models available to cover every area of a customer’s facility regardless of lighting or environmental conditions.
