Plustek unveils next-gen NVR at ISC West

Solution combines video feeds from multiple IP cams, stores data for up to 14 days on one hub

LAS VEGAS, ISC Expo [Booth #32015] (April 1, 2009) – Plustek Technology, a manufacturer of consumer, prosumer and professional imaging devices, will be unveiling the NVR 4000 at the ISC West Expo at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas (Booth # 32015), April 1st through April 3rd, 2009.

The Plustek NVR 4000 is a network video recorder which conveniently lets users connect four IP cameras into one hub for easy access to multiple video streams. The security hub can record and store these video streams for easy retrieval for up to 14-days. The included NVR Multi-Manager software allows users with multiple cameras to view up to 16-channels of surveillance images on a single screen for a comprehensive security overview of a selected area. In addition, the user has full control to focus-in on any given camera to easily keep watch over property or valuable possessions.

The NVR 4000 now supports the surveillance industry’s top IP camera brands, including; Axis Communication, Panasonic, Mobotix, Pelco, Sony, and Vivotek. Now with mega-pixel camera support for high resolution images, the NVR 4000 enables the user to zoom in and closely follow changing details in a video stream to more effectively safeguard people and their property. The NVR 4000 offers a complete surveillance solution for educational institutions, small businesses, roadside surveillance and the like for detecting shoplifters, reducing false alarms, improving personnel safety and/or viewing any premises remotely.

"We needed a solution that was quick to install, reliable and cost-effective,” said Steven Spencer, technical director at OPTi Networks. “We needed the camera and the playback image quality to be clear and this solution provided us with this. Because we are using the high-end cameras with a more cost-effective recording base unit, we have a solution that didn't break the bank and that means we can install more high-end cameras in the future as there is still some budget left."

The NVR 4000 supports hard drives up to 750GB, allowing users to store data for up to 14 days.
