Orsus launches Situator Version 6

Las Vegas, April 1, 2009 - Orsus, the pioneer and innovator in the field of Situation Management, a comprehensive and unique approach that coordinates the interaction between people, alerting sources and responses, today announced the launch of Situator Version 6 with a Situation Management Solutions Library and a greatly enhanced Situation Management software platform.

While maintaining its core ability to empower customers to create their own custom Situation Management solutions using the Situator Planning Tool, with Situator version 6, it is now possible to choose from an off-the-shelf Situation Management Solution Library to seamlessly implement turn-key solutions.

“In the past, due to a lack of connectivity standards in the market, we were forced to focus our efforts on building gateways that enable a seamless integration of each external system to create a common operating picture so that our customers could leverage their existing investments and choose best-of-breed technologies" said Rafi Bhonker, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. The new Library is comprised of solutions such as the "Asset Tracking" family of solutions that include solutions such as "Executive Tracking" and “Visitor Tracking.” With "Asset Tracking" Solutions it is possible to get a consolidated view of the location and "status" of all assets and alerts on various conditions such as "entering a restricted zone.”

A Visitor Tracking Solution, now being implemented by the Virginia Port Authority, allows the port to leverage Situator to meet TWIC compliance for visitors without TWIC credentialing. The solution provides Command Center operators with the ability to continuously track visitors on site and more importantly notifies the appropriate people if the visitor enters an unauthorized area.

The "Route Management" family of solutions includes solutions such as "Vehicle Route Management" and "Guard Route Management" which provide alerts on such conditions as vehicles or guards that move off course or are idle for too long.

The "Operational Compliance" Solution provides a single view of the status of all elements that need to be monitored for compliance and can automatically prioritize and launch appropriate response procedures upon exceptions. Moreover, the solution streamlines the process of routine and periodic compliance audits such as perimeter viability checks, sufficient equipment stock, and more. Status reports can be automatically generated and sent out to all relevant personnel.


Each Situator Situation Management Solution provides a turn-key solution comprised of licenses for Situator software modules, Situator gateways to connect to the relevant external systems and professional services.

Situator Version 6 also features a Business Process Management Component that provides support for visually mapping the Situation Management workflow logic into action plans and new visualization capabilities using Google Earth and ESRI’s ArcGIS.

A Discovery feature is now part of Situator Version 6 that provides an automatic network probe to identify and then import sensors and external users, turning a once manual task into an automated hands-off process. For additional security authentication, the new version provides support for Active Directory and Single Sign on. To assist with business processes, users can generate customized forms for maintenance reports, helpdesk trouble ticketing and specialized forms for NIMS.
