Las Vegas, NV (April 1, 2009) – Offering even more investigation tools to analyze continually increasing amounts of video, Ocularis from On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI) has been updated to put command and management of physical security information even more squarely and powerfully in the hands of the user. The new version enables advanced detection of events, investigation, shared alert management, bookmarking and export of evidence – all within seconds. Ocularis Video Synopsis, an optional module resulting from a collaboration between OnSSI and BriefCam, uniquely enables the compression of video activity into a very short timeframe for faster identification of key events. A day of video footage can be compressed into a 60 second video clip.
Ocularis is a truly innovative, intelligent IP-based video surveillance management and control software solution that magnifies the role of the IP video system to become a full-fledged, video-centric management system for video information across the enterprise.
A highly intuitive, unified user interface provides instantaneous control of all aspects of video detection, analysis, delivery and response. The system provides immediate access to unlimited cameras connected to multiple servers at multiple sites through a map-based interface. Ocularis enables users to push video to any monitor or video wall in the network. It provides the capability to detect and distribute video events and related data and alerts from a host of physical security and transaction systems. It delivers the power to investigate events using instant review and digital PTZ during live monitoring.
Ocularis' versatile open-architecture platform enables the use of off-the-shelf hardware and simplifies the integration of new technologies, including optional add-on components. Users have the flexibility to incorporate any best-of-breed recorders, including OnSSI's market-leading NVRs, and IP and analog cameras by any leading manufacturer.
“Ocularis brings unique capabilities to the way in which physical security information is managed at the enterprise level,” said Gadi Piran, President and CTO of OnSSI. “Today's enterprises are not just looking for a system to manage video, they are looking for a system to manage physical security information. Ocularis provides the ability to coordinate and manage video along with other physical security and transaction systems, including Video Content Analytics, access control, point of sale, license plate readers and more. Our integrated system combines all the information in one place, puts it in the hands of the user and empowers him or her to use it.”
The Ocularis Video Client software is a unified interface for desktop and control room video wall settings. It is optimized for optional touch screen operation. Enhancing the user experience are interaction-based controls, instantaneous investigation in live monitoring mode and one touch push-live-video alerts between users.
