Arktan Systems develops new line of IP cameras

Company to introduce its SilentEyes-SD analytics solution at ISC West

Arktan Systems has developed an innovative line of surveillance IP cameras; one of their models has five lenses side by side, forming a single multi-eye camera providing 180o horizontal and 48o vertical field-of-view. The precise mechanical design of the body ensures that each lens captures a 36º horizontal and a 48º vertical image. This five lens camera produces a single composite picture covering a wide area. The images captured from individual sensors are synchronized and stitched together using Arktan Systems’ proprietary multi-imager video processor (MIVP). Arktan Systems’ engineering group based out of the Silicon Valley, California has also developed state of the art noise reduction algorithms which enable it to capture crisp color images with extraordinarily low blur even in low light conditions. This eliminates the need for illuminators with its products.

A Low Lux Perimeter Analytics Solution (code named SilentEyes-SD) which Arktan Systems has developed and deployed with its technology partners, reduces false positives significantly even in low light conditions. The extended-field-of-view eliminates traditional inter-camera hand-off issues. This solution can run analytics over a much larger area per camera to detect time and location based perimeter intrusions, parking violations, wrong direction traffic, loitering etc.

Arktan Systems’ CTO, Atif Sarwari, states that: "We have driven production excellence by developing our own IP that includes mechanicals, image processors, encoders, and camera control applications. SilentEyes-SD, built on our proprietary X-Vision platform, simply gives the end user unprecedented situational awareness without loss-of-detail or distortion."

The 1.6MP, 180º field-of-view model used in this solution can pan and zoom with a simple click of a mouse in any part of the imagery.

No special skills are needed to install these IP cameras other than a network connection and a screw driver. A simple network configuration utility is provided, along with the camera, which enables discovery of the camera on any connected network.

Deemed a hazard by IT security professionals, no ActiveX install is used in the Arktan Systems’ cameras. Instead a Microsoft Silverlight application, allows for easy and simple camera configuration. The Silverlight camera-control application sits in the secure sandbox of the browser – recognized as safe by IT experts.

With no moving parts to break or deteriorate, a full 2-year warranty is provided on all Arktan products. A single Arktan Systems’ camera provides a cost effective solution for end users, as it is considerably less expensive than purchasing, installing, and maintaining five IP cameras. Users get high quality images with fewer installs, fewer camera management software licenses, lower maintenance fees, and better aesthetics to top these all.
