More than 20,000 attendees expected for ASIS 2010

Nearly 700 exhibitors to showcase the latest in security technology at tradeshow


Alexandria, VA – ASIS International’s 56th Annual Seminar and Exhibits – the premier event for security practitioners worldwide will be held at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, Oct. 12-15. Hosted by ASIS International, the largest organization in the world for security management professionals, ASIS 2010 is the one destination for those seeking security solutions.

The exhibition floor will cover more than 240,000 net square feet. Some 700 exhibiting companies will showcase the most innovative technologies, products, and services on the market today. "For security practitioners from around the world, the ASIS Seminar and Exhibits is the single most important event each year," says ASIS President Joseph R. ("Bob") Granger, CPP. "Over the course of three days, attendees will be face-to-face with some of the foremost authorities in their profession, see hands-on demonstrations of the most advanced security product and service solutions available, and have the opportunity to establish and strengthen their professional network."

Product and service categories include access control, alarms, biometrics, chemical trace detection, disaster recovery and crisis management, executive and VIP protection, guard services, information technology, hazardous material threats, perimeter protection, robots, surveillance, threat assessments, video surveillance, and weapons/bomb detection.

Exhibits hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 12-14. Admission to the Exhibits is free to ASIS members. Nonmembers, with a business interest in security management, are welcome to register online for free passes in advance. After 3:00 p.m. on Oct. 8, on-site registration for Exhibits is available for only $75.

ASIS Accolades is an awards competition that recognizes the security industry’s most innovative new products, services, and/or solutions.

Educational programs at ASIS 2010 will consist of more than 160 sessions covering the latest security topics and critical issues, as well as core security management best practices and strategies. Attendees will be able to select sessions from 18 tracks—which include crime and loss prevention; crisis management; critical infrastructure; government/military; homeland security; info/IT security; physical security; and terrorism. A track will also be presented in Spanish.

General sessions on Friday, Oct. 15 include presentations on cloud computing, supply chain security and corporate ethics.
