Mobotix releases T24 IP Video Door Station

LANGMEIL, Germany, April 13, 2010 -- MOBOTIX, manufacturer of complete high-resolution IP video systems, presented its first IP video Door Station T24 at the World Trade Fair for Architecture. The new product line, with a hemispheric lens, will be available to the market globally on April 17, 2010.

The new MOBOTIX T24 IP video Door Station hemispheric camera captures a complete panorama, from wall to wall and ceiling to floor. Conventional door cameras capture the visitors often only when these individuals stand in front of the lens. The fish-eye lens incorporated with the T24 Door Station captures a super-wide 180-degree view of the scenery in front of the door. Using MOBOTIX’s integrated image correction software, the image is rectified and delivered for viewing. Conveniently, the captured images are digitally panned, tilted and zoomed to ensure the best view.

The MOBOTIX T24 IP video Door Station is based on the international video telephony standard VoIP / SIP and H.264, allowing the door station to be controlled remotely through keyless access via PIN code or through RFID transponders. Additionally, through VoIP capabilities, visitors can leave digital voice messages directly on the T24, which can be retrieved by the home owner either on property or through remote access. The T24 Door Station is based on the international Video Telephony standards for VoIP/SIP and supports the H.264 video compression standard.

Network connection and power of the T24 IP video Door Station is via a network cable or, alternatively, with the expansion Mx2wire set on a two-strand bell wire. Therefore, an existing door bell or simple door entry system can be converted with little effort into a multi-functional access control system with an industry-leading high-resolution MOBOTIX camera. A built-in battery in the Mx2wire guarantees against power failure in the T24 Door Station.

Working off of MOBOTIX’s unique decentralized concept for high-resolution IP video surveillance, the image processing and storage capabilities are located on board the T24 door station, reducing the required bandwidth to a minimum and lowering system costs.

The T24 product line is a modular system that can be adapted to individual customer needs. The customizable system is suitable for both the private commercial and industrial use. The weatherproof outdoor station (IP65, suitable for -30 ° to + 60 °) is available in four colors: white, silver, dark gray and amber.

The T24 Hemispheric IP Video Door Station also controls access to the home and can be used as a video intercom due to its interactive 2-way audio/video communication via local network or the Internet. The hemispheric camera has a loudspeaker and microphone enabling the video intercom which can be used with a conventional or tablet PC, or VoIP-enabled phone. There is also a number pad and RFID module which creates customizable keyless entry. The device’s Infomodule houses the Mx2wire connection and a customized cover which could include a house number or other relevant information.

MOBOTIX provides a suite of viewing client software for easy access and management of unlimited numbers of cameras and storage devices – via either a local network or the Internet. Apart from being feature rich and easy to use, MOBOTIX software is free of charge (no licensing fees or upgrade costs). From one camera to 500 cameras, MOBOTIX software caters to installations of any size.

The T24 Door Station comes with MxEasy software, providing the essentials required for home installation. The software includes a step-by-step install wizard and is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems.
