Sony appoints Mark Collett as general manager

Security products manufacturer Sony Electronics announced Monday that it has tapped Mark Collett to lead its security systems division in the U.S. as the company’s new general manager.

Prior to joining Sony, Collett, who has more than 20 years experience in the network software and hardware products market, served as managing principle and business strategist for IBM’s digital video surveillance business.

"Mark is a well-known and respected leader and comes to Sony with a proven track record in business development within the security industry," said Steven Blum, vice president of Sony Electronics Business Solutions Division. "We are confident that Mark’s broad expertise and energetic leadership will take our security business to the next level."

Collett holds degrees in computer science and business and is a graduate of Babson’s Technical Management Education Program.
