Intransa adds six new video solutions to VideoAppliance

ANAHEIM, California – September 21, 2009 Intransa, the leader in simple, green video surveillance solutions for physical security, today, at ASIS International 2009, announced that ten video management software solutions are now available on Intransa's video appliance systems.  Intransa VideoAppliances are on display in booth #781, in addition to over a dozen partner booths.

Intransa VideoAppliance eliminates the complexity and cost of integrating commodity servers, storage and other hardware, delivering an installer-ready, video optimized IP surveillance solution for simplicity, improved reliability and energy savings.  Certifying and then preloading video management solution (VMS) applications on Intransa's VideoAppliance eliminates the installation and support challenges for security departments, while eliminating costly, complex commodity servers and storage.

March Networks VideoSphere, Axis Communications' Axis Camera Station, Salient Systems CompleteView, TimeSight Systems Video Lifecycle Management, videoNEXT SKM and VideoProtein 3.0 are the six newest applications certified for use with the Intransa VideoAppliance family.  They join Exacq Technologies exacqVision, Genetec Omnicast, JDS Digital Security Systems Softsite32, Milestone Systems XProtect, and On-Net Surveillance Systems (OnSSI) NetDVMS which have been available since June.

“As a leading intelligent video management application, VideoSphere is used by customers around the world on a variety of best-in-class servers and storage platforms,” said Peter Wilenius, vice president of Marketing, March Networks.  “Certification with Intransa's VideoAppliance is the first step in the two companies working more closely together.”

“Axis Camera Station is a complete monitoring and recording system for up to 50 cameras, offering easy installation and setup with automatic camera discovery, a powerful Event Configuration Wizard and efficient management of the Axis network cameras and video encoders in the system,” said Fredrik Nilsson, General Manger, Axis Communications.   “Having our software pre-installed in the Intransa VideoAppliance will reduce the time and cost of deploying network video system for integrators and end users.”

The Intransa VideoAppliance system will run the 11 certified video surveillance applications and be connected to a variety of standard IP, megapixel and H.264 cameras over IP and a Firetide secure, high performance wireless mesh network.  The Firetide demo shows how multiple VMS systems and numerous brands of IP cameras can be leveraged in a secure, wireless campus or metropolitan network implementation, all supported by Intransa's video appliance family without complexity yet with outstanding performance.

“We literally took Intransa's entry level unit, the VA100, and loaded our Enterprise software. Without any optimization whatsoever on the hardware or software on our part, we achieved a sustained disk write speed of over 10,000 FPS over the network. Intransa platforms are clearly built for speed and reliability,” says Joe Marchese, President and CEO of JDS Digital Security Systems. JDS will display an Intransa VA100 running Softsite32 in booth 427.

“Genetec customers are passionate about IP video surveillance software, and Intransa's application-specific video appliances combined with Omnicast will simplify installation, integration and operation for customers and integrators,” said Dana Tarlescu, Technology Partner Program Manager, Genetec.  “And, best of all, Intransa VideoAppliance and Genetec Omnicast reduce energy consumption and the cost of typical commodity hardware in a complete, high performance solution.”

“exacqVision® software is pre-installed on Intransa's VideoAppliance solution and has proven to be a great option for customers,” said Tom Buckley, director of sales and marketing for Exacq Technologies.  “The Intransa VideoAppliance is another great way to utilize our powerful exacqVision VMS software.”  An Intransa VA100 appliance will be on display with ExacqVision in the Exacq booth 347.

“Intransa's VideoAppliance combined with our true open platform XProtect video management software is a great option for customers and integrators,” said Eric Fullerton, chief sales and marketing officer for Milestone. “The combination not only delivers the most robust and easy-to-use solution in the market but reduces support and integration needs, resulting in lower total cost of deployment.” An Intransa system will be on display running XProtect in Milestone's booth, 4219.

“We are extremely pleased to announce that customers now have more video management solution choices than ever before,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO of Intransa.  “Each of these offerings provide security departments, integrators and installers the ability to install new IP surveillance solutions, extend the life of existing CCTV, or do both at the same time for future-proof surveillance.  And, they can do it all without installation risk while reducing cost and administration.  By providing easy to install systems the widespread adoption of our appliances is continuing to grow along with increased customer demand.”

“The video optimization technology and simplicity designed into the Intransa VideoAppliance makes it an ideal platform for our advanced video management technology with CompleteView,” said Per Hanssen, President of Salient Systems Corporation.  “Security departments can now get all the many benefits of CompleteView without concern over the reliability, performance or recording capacity of the underlying server and storage platforms.”   Salient, booth 1127, will feature an Intransa VideoAppliance running CompleteView.

Intransa solutions are available through distributors, integrators and security system dealers around the world. Intransa distributor Anixter will be displaying several Intransa solutions from booth 839, as will AMAG Technologies, Inc., booth 1623.

“Together the Intransa and TimeSight solution deliver a simple and completely integrated platform that enables customers to have fully automated video optimization technology while practicing VLM,” said Paul P. Robinson, director of Marketing for TimeSight Systems. “Customers can now experience higher video image resolution and longer retention times while dramatically reducing storage complexity and shrinking their surveillance acquisition and operating costs. A single Intransa VA100st appliance running TimeSight's software can support 65 high resolution cameras with one year of recording in a 1U footprint.”  TimeSight booth 1650 will feature an Intransa VA100st demo with TimeSight's VLM Video Surveillance Appliance.

“We've been using the Intransa platform for video storage since 2007 for some public safety customers.  Their new appliance approach simplifies video surveillance application deployment beyond the confines of storage alone,” said Chris Gettings, founder and CEO of videoNEXT. “Now, another of our existing customers intends to deploy our software on the new Intransa SR-860 for their new headquarters to reduce cost and complexity in the installation and maintenance of their security management platform.” videoNEXT booth 681 will feature an Intransa appliance demo, as well as participating in the Firetide wireless mesh network campus and metro area wireless network demonstration with Intransa.

“We've had customer deployments with Intransa platforms in a variety of markets,” said Anthony Pugliese, CEO of VideoProtein. “Their solutions further simplify the surveillance infrastructure needs of deploying VideoProtein 3.0 for our customers.”   VideoProtein is a long time Intransa partner, with experience in a variety of complex customer environments that benefit from Intransa solutions when combined with their VMS software.

Intransa team members will be demonstrating Intransa VideoAppliance with Basler IP cameras in Basler's booth 3877.  Intransa booth 781 will feature live demonstrations of each VMS solution running on Intransa VideoAppliance. The solution will be exhibited supporting IP cameras from Arecont Vision, Axis Communications, Basler, IQinVision, GrandEye, Cisco, March Networks, Mobotix and Canon standard, megapixel and H.264 IP cameras.  Analog cameras will interface with DVRs, and encoders from Axis and Bosch, all recording to Intransa VideoAppliance simultaneously.

Intransa will also be hosting an Industry Hosted Happy Hour with many other leading  security industry vendors, many of whom are Intransa StorAlliance members.  The Industry Hosted Happy Hour will be held from 7-11 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22 at Bar Louie, Anaheim Garden Walk, 321 W. Katella Avenue.  For an invitation to the event, be sure to ask for one when visiting the Intransa booth, 871.
