Lenel introduces OnGuard 2010

LAS VEGAS, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Lenel Systems International today introduced OnGuard 2010, showcasing hardware integration in video, access control and visitor management and additional database and operating system support. Lenel is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

Video enhancements for OnGuard 2010 include additional integration functionality for the goVision 2.0 Stand Alone DVR and tier one integration for SkyPoint, Lenel's high performance digital video management software. goVision 2.0 features real-time analytics, effortless monitoring and maintenance of multiple recorders, and now seamless integration with OnGuard 2010. SkyPoint offers scalability, user friendliness, and support for the NetDVMS recording platform, the ability to view live and recorded video, and to view and launch video from OnGuard alarm monitoring.

In access control, OnGuard 2010 works with the Lenel ILS offline and wireless electromechanical locking system, enabling users to secure more doors within a facility from a single platform. The release also supports a new single door controller with POE capability, the LNL 2210. The controller provides full enterprise access control functionality using a distributed, fault tolerant architecture and employs AES-128 bit data encryption. Capable of controlling one or two readers (including OSDP), the LNL-2210 can support multi-card formats, biometric templates, as well as a full database of up to 250,000 badges.

Ease of use and additional functionality highlight the visitor management modules of OnGuard 2010 which provides enhanced support for the front desk application with the addition of Scanshell CSS-1000 for passport and license lookup and enrollment. Simplified permission configurations have been added across all modules and a bulk user import tool is now a standard offering.

OnGuard 2010 provides additional database and operating support for including Windows, SQL, and Oracle. The new release also responds to customers feedback posted on Ideas@lenel.com, an online forum where Value Added Resellers (VARs) and end-users submit ideas for additional features. Lenel evaluated the top feature requests and incorporated some of them into this latest OnGuard release, including interlocking functionality, additional reader grouping support, and auto linking of auxiliary strikes. Additionally, Lenel has added to its third party compatibility of applications as well as streamlined its license files. The simplified licensing scheme helps VARs and end users eliminate error and confusion at time of license activation.
