Altronix debuts Entrada Series of network access controllers

IP connectivity, front Panel touchpad facilitate easy programming


Anaheim, CA (September 21, 2009) – Altronix is demonstrating its new advanced series of Network Access Power Controllers designated Entrada here at ASIS 2009. The first product unveiled in this series is Entrada-16 – a versatile access power controller with web browser interface.

“The new Entrada Series takes access power controllers to a new level of sophistication by offering IP connectivity for versatile programming operations from anywhere a system technician has Internet access,” said Alan Forman, President, Altronix. “Entrada is the latest addition to our increasingly expanded line of solutions that provide more than just power and take advantage of networked infrastructure.”

Entrada-16 features password-protected local or remote IP connectivity which facilitates programming and allows for viewing system status. An integral touch pad enables manual programming and a backlit easy-to-read LCD displays system status at a glance. In addition, email notification reports specific system conditions which may require service, effectively eliminating unnecessary and costly service calls.

Entrada-16 offers sixteen 24VDC power outputs rated at a total of 14 amp. Outputs are individually programmable for Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure operation that are triggered by NO or NC dry contacts with fire alarm disconnect selectable by output. The unit provides power for a variety of access control hardware devices including magnetic locks, electric strikes and magnetic door holders. Additional features include two 12VDC auxiliary power outputs for card readers, proximity readers, REX PIRs, etc.; integral built-in charger for sealed lead acid or gel type batteries; and battery back-up selectable by output when applicable. The unit is housed in a compact 1U EIA 19” rack mount chassis.
