Company closely aligns IDS business to better serve customers

IRVINE, Calif. – November 4, 2008 – HID Global, the trusted leader in providing solutions for the delivery of secure identity, today announced that it has organized and committed resources to better serve customers. Supplementing HID’s existing Identity and Access Management (IAM) offerings, the formation of Identification Solutions (IDS) closely aligns the business and incorporates technology in the areas of eGovernment, Cashless Payment, Industry and Logistics, Food and Animal ID and HID Connect to strengthen the value proposition and fulfillment processes that have been available to HID physical access control customers.

Leading the IDS business is Mark Scaparro, senior vice president, Sales and Marketing for IDS. An industry veteran, Mr. Scaparro has been with HID Global for eight years as executive vice president and brings more than 25 years of direct security industry experience to his new role. Mr. Scaparro will be responsible for the development of strategies related to IDS, its market segments, channels, customers, use applications and solution offerings.

"We are proud to have Mark heading up the IDS business area," said Steve Wagner, senior vice president and chief operating officer, HID Global. "Mark has a proven track record in the development of fulfillment value and customer involvement models, as well as sales support strategies through channel marketing programs and value management programs."

"I am excited to be heading up this integral part of the HID Global structure," said Mark Scaparro. "The organization of the IDS business is driven by the need to realign the former ITG business units within HID Global. IDS will be able to leverage HID’s existing infrastructure, know-how and knowledge base for contactless technology to further increase market share, ultimately positioning the emerging business areas for growth."

In addition, HID Global has made several key appointments to the IDS senior management team, reporting directly to Mr. Scaparro.

Marie-Françoise Glotz has been appointed vice president, Food and Animal ID, Industry and Logistics. Ms. Glotz has been with the company for more than 11 years, holding several positions of increasing responsibility within HID and the former ITG, including working the last seven years in senior management within the industrial, food and animal segments. She is tasked with developing sales and marketing, as well as establishing vertical markets for her respective business segments.

RenĂ© Van Ryt has been appointed to IDS senior management as vice president, Cashless Payment for HID Global. With more than 15 years of professional experience, HID Global will benefit from Mr. Van Ryt’s in-depth expertise in security, RFID technology and smart card applications. Having held several increasingly important positions within HID and the former ITG, he is responsible for further development of automatic fare collection (AFC), ticketing and contactless payment business areas.

Also part of the IDS senior management team is Manuel Villamayor, who has been appointed vice president, eGovernment. Bringing more than 10 years of experience in RFID technology and transponders to his new role, Mr. Villamayor is responsible for the worldwide market and sales strategy for inlays, prelaminates and readers, working closely with governments worldwide to develop and implement e-Passport solutions, e-Document solutions (National IDs), and border crossing solutions.

"As leaders for these business segments, the IDS senior management team will be responsible for expanding HID’s offerings within IDS segment areas while using the HID Global footprint, infrastructure, engineering and technology resources around the world," said Mr. Scaparro. "While this is a large undertaking, the expertise and knowledge this team brings to IDS will serve as the foundation for further growth within the IDS portion of the organization."
