Partnership links surveillance video with security management system

Pearl River, NY and Framingham, MA (February 23, 2009) – On-Net Surveillance Systems, Inc. (OnSSI), the market leader in non-proprietary, open architecture IP-based video surveillance software solutions, has announced a partnership with S2 Security Corporation to extend the benefits of integrated digital video and physical security management to medium-sized organizations that use a single-server NVR and up to 64 cameras at a single site.

OnSSI has integrated its NetDVR single-server NVR and camera management system with S2 Security Corporation's S2 NetBox network-based physical security management system. Combining the S2 NetBox and OnSSI NetDVR systems enables surveillance video to correspond to events detected by a range of physical security devices, including access control, alarm monitoring and temperature monitoring.

Because the integrated system will attach video to each unauthorized access attempt or perimeter security breach, it will eliminate the need to search for and match video content to security exceptions. As a result, users will be able to effectively respond to real-time security events and to streamline the investigation of security events after they occur.

The integration of S2 NetBox and OnSSI's NetDVR is part of an ongoing collaboration between the two companies. The capabilities of S2 NetBox and OnSSI's NetDVMS system for large-scale deployments, such as campuses and multi-site facilities, and for an unlimited number of cameras, were previously combined.

"Our continuing partnership with S2 represents a transition in video surveillance, shifting the focus from merely aggregating video content to intelligent events-based detection and video delivery," said Mulli Diamant, vice president, sales at OnSSI. "We are very proud to be positioned at the forefront of this convergence of technologies, and to offer the benefits of our partnership with S2 to an expanding group of customers."

"The S2 strategy is to freely distribute APIs that enable innovation by our partners," said John L. Moss, president and CEO of S2 Security Corporation. "With our open platform, we can form partnerships such as the one with OnSSI to offer integrated network video recording products that operate seamlessly through the S2 NetBox user and programming interfaces."
