TimeSight Systems announces support of StarDot IP cameras

MT. LAUREL, NJ, September 1, 2009 — TimeSight Systems, the industry leader in Video Lifecycle Management (VLM), today announced that its line of award-winning Video Surveillance Appliances now offer support for StarDot Technologies’ high definition surveillance cameras. The combined solution provides security personnel the ability to capture and manage megapixel-quality information and retain it longer in a smaller, more cost-effective storage footprint.

TimeSight Systems offers the only video surveillance product that utilizes Video Lifecycle Management (VLM) – the practice of continuously reducing the cost of storing surveillance data over time. This technology allows users to reduce the size of stored video over time as video becomes older and less relevant, according to user-defined business rules, based on its value and ability to protect against risk without sacrificing security or compliance.

Currently, TimeSight appliances support six of StarDot's NetCam models with resolutions ranging from 1-5 megapixels. The compelling combination satisfies customers’ demands for high resolution images at fast frame rates, while allowing them to better determine their needs for how surveillance video is treated during the entire course of its useful life and reduce their storage investment.

“Adding support for StarDot’s megapixel IP cameras to our platform provides our customers with yet more options to capture crystal clear video while slashing storage costs through the practice of VLM,” said Paul P. Robinson, director of Marketing for TimeSight Systems. “Full-featured megapixel IP video doesn't have to be expensive. Together, TimeSight and StarDot are helping solve the problem of exploding costs that our joint customers face, including video surveillance storage.”

TimeSight’s exclusive Motion Optimized Recording (MORe) applies specific resolution, frame rate, and retention policies to motion and non-motion video, enabling users to store all video footage on less storage than riskier “Record On Motion” only techniques. In addition, TimeSight’s new intelligent ACe encoding feature converts video streams from legacy analog cameras into fully digitized streams, allowing users with a significant investment in analog CCTV systems to migrate into a fully functional IP based video network.
“StarDot’s cameras provide up to fifteen times the resolution of even the best analog CCTV cameras,” said Vance Kozik, Product Manager, StarDot Technologies. “These high resolution cameras can now capture and store high-definition images at a fraction of the cost of other approaches for extended periods of time.”
