The firmware is also easily upgraded from local to remote sites and comes in 4, 8 and 16 channels.

"We are pleased to offer this video recording platform to small and mid-sized businesses," stated Warren Brown, director of product management for Tyco Security Products. "High-quality and cost-effective security products are just as important to these smaller businesses as they are for larger companies. These products ensure their security needs will be met without major cost expenditures to them."

The TVR and TVR-VS offer large capacity HDD recording, and TCP/IP transmission, while the embedded Linux OS provides enhanced reliability. Other features include alarms, local or remote PTZ control with multiple dome protocols available, remote operation, live viewing of up to 64 cameras at once, and the ability to manage multiple users and their associated privileges.
