ISACA to host IT security conference in Las Vegas

Non-profit's new conference designed for all levels of IT security professionals

Rolling Meadows, Illinois, USA (21 July 2009)—The role of the IT security professional has expanded from securing an enterprise’s information to also managing the associated risk. ISACA has responded by offering the new Information Security and Risk Management Conference, which combines the most timely material from two of ISACA’s well-regarded security-related conferences.

ISACA, a nonprofit association serving 86,000 IT governance professionals, will host the Information Security and Risk Management Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on 28-30 September 2009. The all-encompassing event is designed for all levels of IT security professionals.

“IT professionals need to ensure that their enterprise’s security infrastructure is effectively protecting its valuable information assets while efficiently managing risks,” said Kent Anderson, CISM, member of ISACA’s Security Management Committee. “This challenging balancing act requires that IT professionals understand the latest issues and remain current in training and education.”

The conference will feature panel discussions, networking events and workshops. In addition to providing a review weekend for professionals preparing to take the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) exam, the conference will focus on key areas of IT security, including:

• Tools for a network security audit
• Database audit and security
• Information security strategy

Conference attendees can earn up to 32 continuing professional education (CPE) hours. The registration fee is US $1,400 for ISACA members and US $1,600 for nonmembers. For more information, please visit www.isaca.org/conferences.
