Vista launches new vandal resistant camera

VK2-540VRD features H.264 compression and Power-over-Ethernet

Part of the updated Vip-Kit2 range, Vista has introduced the VK2-540VRD 540TVL high resolution vandal resistant camera with H.264 compression and Power over Ethernet (PoE).

Simple to use and easy to set up, it has an IP output and a standard analogue BNC output, allowing it to be used in both IP and standard coax based systems. As part of the Vip-Kit2 range, it is supplied with its own management software free of charge.

PoE operation allows power to be sent over Cat5 cable, enabling existing cabling to be used rather than incurring the added cost of extra cable installation. There are a number of recording options, including manual, alarm and motion detection along with a simple search and play back feature. Smaller file sizes, and hence more efficient recording, can be achieved thanks to the H.264 format.

"The VK2-540VRD camera is very simple to set-up and use thanks to operation via a well-established PC-based system," comments Mark Pritchard, divisional director for Vista. "Users can also be assured of high quality, high frame rates thanks to the ability to display and record images in real time up to 25ips at D1 resolution."
