Checkpoint Systems recognized by Axis Communications

THOROFARE, N.J—January 10, 2011- Checkpoint Systems, Inc., a leading global supplier of shrink management, merchandise visibility and apparel labeling solutions for the retail industry and its supply chain, was named the 2010 Retail Market Partner of the Year for North America by Axis Communications. Axis is a global leader in network video, driving the ongoing shift from analog to digital video platforms, with solutions focused on security surveillance and remote monitoring.

Checkpoint received this honor due to the active engagement of its sales team when working on surveillance projects, especially for the two companies’ mutual national, premier retail customers.

"Retail is a key vertical market for surveillance because there is so much more than asset protection at stake," said Fredrik Nilsson, general manager, Axis Communications Inc. "Checkpoint has done tremendous work to build effective and efficient security and loss prevention solutions for some of the largest retailers in North America, and through our joint successes we are driving the shift to network surveillance in a market that is still primarily dominated by outdated analog technology."

"Checkpoint has long been an innovator in digital video surveillance solutions," notes Farrokh Abadi, President, Checkpoint’s Shrink Management Solutions business. "From launching the first retail-focused APV Monitor to our most recent Interactive Public View Monitor, which is the first of its kind to respond to nearby activity and integrate with smart fixtures, electronic article surveillance (EAS) and RFID-based solutions, Checkpoint is committed to bringing the retail industry innovative solutions that boost store security, improve loss prevention efforts and enhance store operations.

"We are honored to receive this award from Axis. It reflects the quality of the products and services we offer to retailers. Checkpoint is committed to helping retailers tackle shrink and is consistently looking for innovative ways to help retailers increase their profits and decrease the nearly $43 billion lost to theft in North America."

The award was presented during the annual Axis Channel Convergence Conference (ACCC). ACCC is an annual gathering of Axis’ top distributors, systems integrators, development partners and strategic infrastructure partners in North America.
