Alarm Monitoring Services honors Sharon Hibler

Alarm Monitoring Services has named first shift supervisor Sharon Hibler as the company’s AMS Employee of the Year.
The plaque honoring Hibler was presented on Friday, June 12 by Carrie O'Malley, AMS central station manager during a small ceremony at the monitoring station.

According to AMS founder and CFO Dera DeRoche, “Sharon was chosen as the AMS Employee of the Year because she is always willing to go the extra mile. She strives to ensure that all team members treat each alarm as if it were their own.”

“It is not unusual to see her in the building, even on her off time, checking on our dispatchers and making sure they are all confident in their jobs,” added O’Malley. “When bad weather is expected to hit, Sharon is the first to notify the central station and to ensure that if additional staff is needed, they arrive before the alarms do. Her accuracy is phenomenal and her total response time is ranked number one.”

Hibler has been with AMS since January 2006. She began as a dispatcher and about a year later was promoted to first shift supervisor.

Before coming to Monroe, Louisiana and AMS Hibler served as administrative assistant in Sarasota, Florida for 15 years and then went to work as a dispatcher for an alarm company in the area. Although she arrived at AMS four months after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the New Orleans area, hurricanes are no stranger to Hibler who unfortunately lost her home when Hurricane Ivan hit the west coast of Florida.

“I am truly honored to have received this award and I love working at Alarm Monitoring Services,’ said Hibler. “I am proud of the professionalism of AMS, especially its Five Diamond Certification. But AMS is more to me than a place to work. We are a team and a family. When my husband was ill and in the hospital, everyone did everything they could to help and support me.”

“Congratulations and a big thank you Sharon for keeping our subscribers accounts in such good hands,” said DeRoche. We are sure that Sharon's two children and four grand children are as proud of her accomplishments with Alarm Monitoring Services as we are.”
