ALEXANDRIA, Va. - Privacy concerns can have a significant role in shaping the implementation of electronic security technology, and the Security Industry Association (SIA) has scheduled a webinar for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25, to examine these issues.
Government programs that seek to address concerns about privacy profoundly affect the use of biometrics, CCTV, RFID and other security technologies by end-users. Government privacy policies may also affect the distribution of grant funds for security projects.
This 60-75 minute webinar will focus on the intersection of privacy with the guidelines included in government programs, as well as ways in which the security industry can be prepared to respond to the influence of privacy issues upon their businesses.
A pair of industry experts on privacy and techhnology will discuss these subjects and others during the webinar: Kathleen Carroll from HID Global and Samuel Docknevich from Siemens Industry.
Registration, which is free for SIA members and costs $35 for non-members, is available on the SIA Web site.
