SANYO wins IFSEC Award

Company’s high definition surveillance camera honored at tradeshow

Chatsworth, California, May 29, 2009 – SANYO Security Products Group (SANYO), in the Consumer Solutions Division of SANYO North America, announced that its breakthrough High Definition (HD) surveillance camera has been selected CCTV Product of the Year at the annual International Fire and Security Conference (IFSEC) held in Birmingham, U.K. on May 11th.

The IFSEC2009 Security Industry Awards are organized by the British Security Industry Association and United Business Media. The awards serve to promote the highest standards of excellence in security. Underscoring the importance of innovation and quality, they honor the best new technology and products that have been introduced over the last year. The prestigious award was voted by a distinguished panel of nine key representatives of the security industry. SANYO was selected from the six finalists that included such international industry luminaries as Dedicated Micros (UK), VideoTec SPA (Italy) and MOBOTIX AG (Germany).

The SANYO VCC-HD4000 is a day/night, full 1080p, High Definition network camera equipped with the world’s first 4 megapixel auto focus zoom lens which has been matched with a 4 megapixel progressive scan sensor to deliver incredibly sharp, crystal clear images with spectacular color fidelity. These attributes are especially crucial when enlarging detailed parts of a captured image with the zoom function. The auto focus zoom lens also enables to eliminate cumbersome focus adjustment and reduce time and cost for installation. Details remain clear, sharp and color true beyond anything imagined with regular IP camera technology.

The HD4000 transmits 30 IPS in HD with an H.264 high-compression codec optimized for bandwidth friendly network transmission. JPEG transmission is also provided. The camera is exceptionally feature rich including a SD memory card slot, USB port for external HDD, HDMI output, 10x optical zoom, 16x digital zoom and selectable bandwidths. Human face detection, privacy masking and motion detection are some of the additional features built-in to the camera.

"The IFSEC award is a great affirmation of SANYO's breakthrough HD network camera," said Mr. Bill Lawrence, Vice-President and General Manager of SANYO Security Products Group in Chatsworth, CA. "The UK-based PSI magazine conducted a professional test of the VCC-HD4000 in late 2008 and gave it rave reviews. Among other things, they said 'you cannot help but be impressed by the VCC-HD4000' as well as 'this is the future of CCTV.' This camera refreshes SANYO's position as a security industry innovator and is the first step of exciting HD offerings you'll see from SANYO in the very near future."
