Jim Combs coins COPS Monitoring

Combs named company’s new account manager


Jim Combs has joined the COPS Monitoring team as account manager, working out of the company’s New Jersey office.

Combs comes to COPS with an abundance of industry experience and a personal devotion to a cause that COPS, and especially Jim McMullen, fully supports.

Before COPS, Combs had seven years experience as a sales manager for two major integration companies: First Edge Security & Technologies in Forked River, NJ and then SST (Security Systems and Technologies) in Eatontown, NJ. The companies obtained an impressive client list thanks to Jim.

On the personal side, Combs has a life changing story from September 11. He had an early morning appointment at the World Trade Center that fateful day, which he moved an hour ahead. If he hadn’t changed the time of the meeting, he would have been in the building when the plane hit. He saw the smoke and flames as her was traveling to the meeting.

Based on this experience and the dedication of the firefighters at the site, Jim began a volunteer organization called Firefighters Needed Recruitment Initiative to educate the public of the desperate need for volunteer firefighters.
