Lenel launches premium video solution

BIRMINGHAM, England, IFSEC, Hall 4, Stand D130, May 11, 2009 — Lenel Systems International Inc.’s recently introduced premium video surveillance solution, SkyPoint, has been commercially released and is now available through the company’s global network of certified value-added resellers. Lenel is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

“OnGuard VideoManager will remain Lenel’s standard level video solution in Lenel’s strategy to make video surveillance affordable at all levels in the marketplace. SkyPoint strengthens our premium level video offering,” said Luis Orbegoso, President Lenel Systems International.

SkyPoint offers customers a powerful video monitoring environment with a highlyintuitive and easily mastered user interface, using “advanced human engineering” technology. SkyPoint presents innovative features such as dynamic response, a kinetic scalable timeline, time and motion slicing and optional touch-screen support with extraordinary ease of use.

“The shorter learning curve and increased productivity make SkyPoint a cost-effective solution for advanced video surveillance,” said Orbegoso.

To deliver the SkyPoint video solution, Lenel has established a joint technology development partnership with the industry’s leading IP-video software provider, On-Net Surveillance Systems (OnSSI). This allows Lenel to utilize pioneering OnSSI video technologies such as NetDVMS, NetDVR, ProSight SMB, and the Video Wall control interface, NetSwitcher, alongside Lenel’s own network video recorders and video analytics capabilities, to broaden the functionality of the system.

SkyPoint is currently being offered as a stand-alone video solution. During the next 9 to12 months Lenel and OnSSI plan to develop complete interoperability between SkyPoint and OnGuard, Lenel’s access control solution. The integration will give users a unified and userfriendly interface through which to configure and modify the entire system, as well as the ability to seamlessly monitor and manage access events and associated video streams.

“Our technology partnership with OnSSI will allow Lenel to immediately offer a best-inclass video solution set,” said Luis Orbegoso, president of Lenel. “SkyPoint and OnGuard are specifically designed to work together, and will continue to evolve as the premium-level alternative to Lenel’s traditional video offerings. SkyPoint will also provide Lenel customers with a unique scalability and the flexibility to grow their security systems when and how it best suits their individual environments,” Orbegoso added.
